Jan 24, 2010 Mud

Just outside my backdoor is this slopping mess of mud. Puppy does pretty good on keeping the underside of her belly free of mud, but paws are always muddy and wet when she comes in. She also enjoys sitting in the rain. Go figure.

Jan 22, 2010 Broccoli

Yes. My garden, despite winter, cold, freezing and all other weather conditions, my garden has yielded fresh broccoli sprouts. My rabbits thank the dirt and those super broccoli seeds.

Jan 21, 2010 Lake Erie

Traveled all the way to Cleveland and this was the closest I got to Lake Erie. *sigh* Jon refused to stop. I couldn't believe the ice caps and the fact that people swim in this lake during the summer. It has to be cold year round, right?

Jan 20, 2010 Pooltime!

We traveled to Cleveland, Ohio January 18th through the 21st. James and Jesse played in the pool at Comfort Inn every day. I got to spend one evening with them at the pool and captured many pictures of them playing. James jumping off the side of the pool would have given me heart palpitations just last October. He has come so far with his swimming lessons. He's a fish in the water. Jesse needs a new bathing suit cause well her girly parts play peek-a-boo sometimes and it gives me the heebie jeebies. I can't even put her in a bikini or tankini in good conscience. She may be relegated to boy shorts and rash guard shirts for the next decade. :D Jon. What can I say? He needs new swim shorts too. I believe those are 9 years old.

I once had a rabbit named Snuggles, Jesse puts that rabbit to shame. Jesse loves laptime, snuggletime, mommytime. I joke that I carried her for 14 months, nine months in the womb and 5 months strapped to me in the Mai Tei. I think she looks like Cindy Lou Who in the Grinch movie in this picture.

I bought these Rocky boots at the Paul Bunyon show in 1998. Yes. Eleven years ago. I love these boots. They are water proof, got great tread and have seen enough shit to be called "a good pair of boots". I am wearing my robe with my boots. Don't ask.

Jan 8, 2010 Pizza!

Jon is scraping my toppings off my vegie lovers pizza! Can you hear the gasp and horror in my voice?! We went to Donato's pizza in Lebanon Friday night before heading to Walmart for groceries. Jon ordered a large half cheese and black olives (cause James and Jesse LOVE black olives) and half vegie lovers. Then he proceeded to desacrate my pizza. Next time he's gonna have to order his own personal pizza, cause I got two pieces and then had to eat just toppings while he ate mutilated pizza. We ate it all, though. :D

Jan 7, 2010 Snow-Puppy

The thermometer reads 21 degrees and it is pouring snow. We are expected to get several inches. Puppy refuses to come inside today. I'll randomly look out and she's chasing her tail or running circles or digging in the snow. At this moment she decided to come get her bottom warm and rest after her circle running. She's laying on top of her dog kennel. She refuses to use it, so I've resorted to putting a blanket on top with a doggy indoor/outdoor heating pad. The heating pad is that brown thing she is laying on. It heats in response to pressure, so it gets warmer as she lays there and then reaches a max temp before it shuts off. It's pretty cool. I had to steal this one from the cats cause Puppy is being a butthead. They'll have to duke it out another day.

My favorite socks! I originally bought these to make Jesse leg warmers, but loved them too much. Or I was out of clean socks, decided to wear them, fell in love and said Jesse will survive without pink stripe leg warmers.

Jan 5, 2010 Spice

Spice-Girl and her two cohorts live in the cat room. Since it is wintertime, I put down straw for their bedding. The three rabbits will spread the straw the entire length and width of the 10'X5' room. Spice gets her ears wet everytime she drinks from the bowl and I find it adorable, those big floppy soft ears floating in the water.

Jesse had just finished putting on the bridle and was working on fastening the saddle on when I snapped this picture. Look at that face of concentration. She's serious about her horse. Joey went to bed with her last night and it was of EPIC importance this morning that I find the bridle before I went to work. I think I have a horse-mad girl on my hands. Makes momma proud.

Jan 3, 2010 Painting!

One of the things I do at work is inspect schools and there is an "aroma" in most elementary classrooms that I have finally placed...Paints. Non-toxic children's paint has a beautiful scent that is now and forever will be associated with Jesse and her paintings. She's an artist in the making. I feel it.

The second picture was taken on 12-27-09 and in the seven days since, Jesse has filled up this wall and two walls in the living room. She's been busy. I love it.

Noms! My coworker gave me this bottle of wine for Christmas. It is very pretty. I drank red wine in 1999 and thought it tasted like a**. Maybe my taste buds have seasoned enough that this wine will be the perfect compliment to a filet mignon dinner.
